Introducing the newest flavor of protein mix- Chocolate! We had to add this to the product lineup as it brings new depths to our 'olena intake. Speaking of, these protein bites are a hit in our house. It's a weekly staple that keeps in the fridge nicely - it can lasts up to 7 days in the fridge but after you taste these... they won't last that long.

This can also be made with our Vanilla flavored protein mix but we love using the chocolate and peanut butter combo.
We love using Hemp hearts for added protein and healthy fats. (Which is great for curcumin absorption= turmeric being used in the body) Instead of using refined sugars for sweetening these bites, we like to add in medjool dates for that sweetness.
Here's the recipe for our No-bake, chocolate turmeric protein bites:
1/2 cup rolled oats (we like to use sprouted rolled oats for better digestion)
2 tablespoons chia seeds
2 tablespoons hemp hearts
2 scoops of protein powder
1/2 tbs cacao powder (not cocoa)
3 pitted medjool dates
1/2 cup peanut butter (melted, or drippy is using a natural brand)
These can be made with two methods, by food processor or hand mixed. The first method gives a more clean, refined ball. The hand-mixed processes creates a chunky bite. Both are delicious!
Food Processor:
Add oats and pulse 2x to just barely grind oats. You want a smaller oat but not oat flour.
Remove oats. Add in dates and pulse 3x to break them up a bit.
Add oats back into processor along with other ingredients and blend till well combined
Using a spoon or cookie scoop, grab some dough and form into balls with hands
Place in an airtight container
Hand-Mixed:
Roughly chop up oats, break them down into smaller pieces. Do not ground (flour like)
Roughly chop or break up dates
Add oats, chia seeds, hemp hearts and protein powder into bowl- Mix till combined
Sprinkle dates evenly over bowl and then mix in
Add in peanut butter and combine well
Scoop out and form into balls
Place in airtight container
NOTES:
If dough seems excessively crumbly and dry, add more peanut butter. If it's really wet add more oats or hemp hearts. You should be able to form them into a ball and place into the a container without loosing its shape
Other toppings that would taste great: cacao nibs or chocolate chips, shredded coconut, honey if you want it sweeter
Store in airtight container for up to 1 week. Freezer for 1 month
